Abuja Municipal Area names street after Akwa Ibom commissioner

… Laud Udom Emmanuel’s development agenda

The Abuja Municipal Area council, AMAC, has named a street after the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Akwa Ibom State, Mr Ephraim Inyangeyen in a bid to immortalize his name.

In a letter dated November 27th, 2017 and signed by Admin officer, Isaac Ekoja for the Director of Street naming, Abuja Municipal area, and addressed to Mr Inyangeyen, reveals that, AMAC took the measure to immortalize the name of Mr Inyangeyen in recognition of, what they say, is his excellent performance as Commissioner for Works in Akwa Ibom State as the one championing the infrastructural development in line with Governor Udom Emmanuel’s excellent agenda for the sector.

The letter reads in part, “We have great pleasure to inform you that, AMAC has immortalized your name in the Federal Capital Territory by naming a street after you, in recognition of your excellent performance as Commissioner for Works, Akwa Ibom State as the one championing the infrastructural and maintainance in line with His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel’s excellent agenda”

The statement adds that, the efforts of the administration can be seen in the number and kilometers of roads completed and under construction across the state.

Further justifying the reason for naming the street after Commissioner Inyangeyen, AMAC cited his sterling performance as a Customs officer and contributions to Nation building, which have earned him numerous awards including his advocacy for human rights and fight against the abuse of women.

AMAC while also appreciating the contributions of Mr Ephraim Inyangeyen to the social development of the area, congratulated him for the feat.

In his reaction to the development during an interaction with newsmen, Mr Inyangeyen expressed delight for the honour done him and thanked AMAC for considering and deeming him fit for such recognition.

He thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel, who he said, appointed him in his magnanimity to serve as Commissioner for Works in his government. Mr Inyangeyen said, the governor has given him the confidence to excel and created a very positive environment for him and his team in the Ministry to deliver and interpret his vision of infrastructural revolution that can support and compliment the industrialization agenda in the state.

The works Commissioner dedicated the honour to Akwa Ibom people for the overwhelming support they have given and continue to give to the Udom Emmanuel led administration and pledged to intensify his effort to ensure that the the vision of Governor Emmanuel for roads and infrastructural development is actualized.
