A coalition of Etinan Federal Constituency Support group rooting for the re-election of Governor Udom Emmanuel for a second term in office and the emergence of the Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and representative of Nsit-Ubium State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke as the next House of Representatives member for the federal constituency, today held a solemn assembly at Nsit Ubium council secretariat field, Ikot Edibon to seek the face of God.
The Prayer convocation attracted a large crowd of members of the federal constituency including, the Chairman Nsit Ubium Transition Committee, Hon. Otobong Edemidiong, members of the Transition Committee, royal fathers, youths and women.
Declaring the event open, Nsit Ubium Council boss, thanked the organisers for deeming it necessary to commit the affairs of the State and the federal constituency into the hands of God, and described the exercise as pleasing to God.
“I am a living witness of the efficacy of prayer, and I am sure and certain that today’s prayer will clear the coast for the smooth return of our Governor into office in 2019, our Speaker’s future political career in the national assembly and for the victory of all candidates of the PDP in the forthcoming local government election in the three local government areas in the federal constituency”.
The Council boss hailed Governor Udom Emmanuel for fulfilling his campaign promises to Nsit-Ubium one of which is the construction of Ikot-Eyo – Edem idim Ekpot and Ikot Ntung which is ongoing.
In his exhortation, Rev. Idongesit Inyang who led in the first prayer session, describes prayer as a conversation between God the creator and man, his creation.
He described the spiritual exercise as a serious matter that has attracted heaven, assuring that God has granted their request.
A former Council Chairman of Nsit-Ubium, Pastor. Ekpedeme Akpan, also led in the Prayer session.
In her message of appreciation on behalf of the organisers, Hon. Blessing Mbakara Pius thanked everyone for turning out in the numbers for the Prayer convocation.
Speaking with newsmen at the end of the Prayer meeting, Mrs. Blessing explained that the Prayer exercise became necessary, saying the various support groups and affiliate organisations in the federal constituency understands the importance of prayers, and decided to seek the face of God in the federal constituency ahead of the 2019 election.
