CAF Confederation Cup: Fans to watch Akwa United Vs Al-Hilal match Free

His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has ordered that gate fee should not be taken on Wednesday when Akwa United will host Al-Hilal of Sudan in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup playoffs match.

Governor Udom Emmanuel said the gesture is to ensure the Promise Keepers enjoy massive support from their fans and other lovers of football in the state during the crucial match.

Akwa United will be aiming to qualify to the lucrative group phase of the competition for the first time in their history but they have to overturn a 2-0 deficit against the Sudanese club on Wednesday at the magnificent Goodwill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

The 2017 Aiteo Cup Champions will be motivated by the support of 30, 000 vocal fans expected to watch the game at the Nest of Champions and a win by three clear goals will see the Uyo based side progress to the group stage of the competition.

Meanwhile, Sudanese League champions, Al- Hilal will arrive the country on Sunday ahead of their second leg final round qualifying clash against Akwa United in Uyo next Wednesday.

A 33-man strong delegation comprising 22 players and 11 officials will arrive Lagos on Sunday for the crucial return leg play off of the CAF Confederations Cup.

Though CAF regulations stipulate a squad of 25 with 18 players and 7 officials, the Sudanese Champions, who hold a 2-goal advantage, are not leaving anything to chance for the match that will determine who goes ahead to the group stages of the competition.

An advance party led by Mr. Hassan Taha arrived Uyo Saturday morning to make hotel reservations and other logistics.
