Crises Returns to Ukanafun as Ward secretary kidnapped in Ukanafun

*3million ransom demanded

*Mother to former council secretary escapes abductors

Few weeks after men of the Nigerian Army succeeded in killing of a notorious terrorist in Ukanafun, Akaninyene Jumbo Ukoh alias Iso-Akpafid, watchers of events in the area would have believed that peace should have finally return to the Local Government.

But that is not the case as seeds of Iso Akpafid may take a longer time to be erased.

The recent being the kidnap of the PDP secretary for ward eleven in Ukanafun, Mr. Temple Thompson Nnah of Odoro Ikot Village by unknown gunmen.

The ward scribe was kidnapped on Thursday 1st February 2018 at about 7:00pm in his billage.

According to a source from the victim’s family who spoke to our reporter said that the abductors roamed round the community that evening before they finally entered the compound and picked the victim after shooting sporadically into the air to scare away all forms of opposition to their actions.

Our source also said that the kidnappers few minutes after the abduction used a hidden phone number immediately they kidnapped the victim and called the family demanding 3 million ransom for him to regain his freedom.

It was clear whether the family of the victim had agreed terms with them.

THE INK reporter was however informed that the kidnappers had earlier targeted the mother to a former council secretary of Ukanafun Local Government council NNE Umoh whose son Hon. Ubokobong Umoh once served as the council scribe but missed the target as the old woman as at the time the hoodlums strike was not at home.

Many sources say failure to pick Nne Umoh led to the kidnappers redirecting their search engine that leading to the abduction of the ward Secretary who hails from the same community with the former council secretary.

It could be recall that four pupils of Nsehe primary school were abducted last week at the school premises by unknown gunmen. The victims till date are yet to regain freedom.

The state police public relations officer , DSP Odiko MacDon Ogbeche could not be reached for comments on the matter but a police source from the local government hinted THE INK reporter that they are aware of the incident and added that security operatives are currently investigating the matter and shall get to the roots of it.
