In a meeting with stakeholders of the zone held at Okon on Sunday, February 25, 2018, the Commissioner said at the occasion that he was ready to relinquish his position instead of allowing the state House of Assembly position which is zoned to Okon geo political zone to elude the zone.

Jack Udota from Central geo-political zone who served from 2003 to 2011(served two terms), Hon. Ayang Anyang from Urban geopolitical zone represented the area between 2007 and 2011, and upon the expiration of his first term , the people of the area picked the current House of Assembly member, Hon.
