PDP disowns OBA, Ikon, Mike Enyong
*Nobody will be given any automatic ticket
Contrary to news making the rounds that the Peoples Democratic Party at the National level has approved an automatic ticket for her serving National Assembly members, the party says it has not, cannot and will never contemplate a thing like that.
Information monitored from the office of the National Publicity Secretary of the Party Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan indicates that the PDP at no time made such comments either through her Chairman or a third party.
An aide to the National Publicity Secretary of the Party who confided in THE INK reporter mentioned that at the meeting of the party held in the National Assembly, House of Representatives, that the Chairman of the party Uche Seconds only told National lawmakers to sit up as they cannot be guaranteed of an automatic ticket.
Our reporter understands that the office of the National Chairman of the PDP is equally unhappy with the development of the misinformation that the party wants to handover automatic tickets to her National Assembly representatives.
The National Publicity Secretariat of the Party however believes that the twisting of the information they had during a meeting of the National leadership and the federal lawmakers is only handwork of mischief makers and desperate politicians who feel they can hoodwink innocent members of the unsuspecting public.
THE INK gathered also from competent sources that the National Chairman of the Party had reached out to some lawmakers from Akwa Ibom State warning them to desist from misrepresenting the party for their selfish interest.
Secondus is said to have yelled at some of them on phone that the PDP is a party with all the attending democratic peculiarities and therefore no one individual or group of individuals should seek to use the party to score cheap political points.
Please stop dropping the names of leadership of the party. The Party helmsman is said to have yelled.
National Publicity secretary of the Party Kola Kola Ologbondiyan..is said to have been directed to issue circulars to PDP Senators and House of Representative members to stay on the line of sanity as they go about their campaigns and avoid dragging the name of the party into the mix.
Meanwhile, the news that the PDP had handed automatic tickets of the party to National Assembly members seeking reelection on the platform of the party is said to have been twisted, generated and circulated widely by promoters and handlers of Sen. OBA, Sam Ikon and Mike Enyong’s second term bid.
But with recent developments, the Publicity Secretariat of the Party domiciled in Abuja the seat of power in Nigeria must have laid to rest and OBA, Ikon, Mike Enyong and others must seek a second term through the legitimate political way.
With this clarification from the National Publicity secretary of the party, the likes of OBA, Sam Ikon, Mike Enyong will be given a run for their money in their respective Federal constituencies and senatorial district as the case may want to be.
Similarly, a release from the office of the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Akwa Ibom State Comrade Ini Ememobong described the automatic ticket story as a grand ruse.
