Masari sacks commissioner over ‘2019 politics’
Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has relieved his Commissioner for Education, Prof. Halimatu Sa’adiyya, of her duties.
It was gathered that the commissioner was hacked over alleged inability to be more proactive towards the politics of 2019.
A press statement by Masari’s Senior Special Assistant (Media), Abdu Labaran Malumfashi, said that the Commissioner’s sack was with immediate effect.
The statement quoted the governor as thanking Prof. Sa’adiyya for her services to the state, noting however that, “taking into account the fact that political activities leading to elections would commence early next year, it has become necessary for the government to bring more active politicians on board so as to fasten activities of governance.
“In the letter tittled, “LETTER OF APPRECIATION AND DISENGAGEMENT,” dated 21st December, 2017, Governor Masari said her contributions for the development of the education sector in particular and the government in general cannot be over emphasized.
“The Governor added that during her term as Commissioner, schools were rehablitated and upgraded, new ones were constructed, teachers were trained and the atmosphere made more conducive for learning and teaching.
“However, as political activities for the 2019 general elections are about to commence, it becomes imperative for government to bring more active politicians on board to fasten activities of governance,’’ Masari said
“On behalf of the government and people of the state, Governor Masari also wished Prof. Sa’adiya God’s guidance in her future endeavours.”
