The standard bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Itu Local Government Area, Barr Etetim Onuk has disclosed that candidates on the platform of the party from the area will work together and ensure they would leave the Council better and stronger than it is now.
Onuk made the remark on Friday, when he led the Vice Chairmanship candidate, Mrs Emem Ekpanya and all PDP Councillorship candidates on a visit to the Hon. Commissioner For Housing and Special Duties, Mr Akan Okon.
According to Onuk, all candidates of the PDP have resolved to put the interest of the Local government first and ensure there is peace and stability in Itu. He declared that the conviction to succeed supersedes any personal interest.
Responding, Akan Okon said he is confident the Onuk led PDP team in Itu will come out victorious in the December 2 polls and kick-start the process of rebuilding Itu.
He congratulated them on the successes recorded so far and advised them to put aside personal interest or sentiments and remain united and committed to the development of the Local Government. He pledged to do his bid to ensure the party’s candidates sail through the December 2 elections victoriously and advised all party faithfuls not to relent until total victory is achieved.
“We have the opportunity to right the wrongs and move Itu to the desired height. With the people i have seen today, i believe you will leave the local government better than you met it. close ranks, operate an all inclusive government and ensure every decision you take, should be in the interest of the Itu.
We are always available to offer advice and moral support to all of you.” he said.
