We Bring Evil Perpetrators To Justice – Akwa Ibom Governor
Governor Udom Emmnauel of Akwa Ibom State has vowed to bring all perpetrators of evil acts in the state to justice.
Emmanuel speaking Friday at the funeral service of Mrs Enobong Monday Akpan at QIC Primary School, Ikot Edet in Etim Ekpo local government area said “As a government, be assured that we will be hunting for the perpetrators.
The governor in an emotion-laden voice noted, “I hope you aware that we have gotten some of them. For the few remaining, we will do everything humanly possible to get all of them.
It is not all through human effort, but God holds the lever we pull the wicked ones into our hands even we least expect it.We are doing everything within our powers to bring every single person who perpetrated this ignoble act. For every other person of this nature, we will bring all of them to justice. So, many of them have already been gotten so far.”
Emmanuel, who quoted from Luke 22:22 that says And truly the son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed, pointed out “So, it is as it was determined by God.
God sees the end from the beginning. Nothing is a surprise to God. Before creation, God knew a day like this would come. The Bible says but woe unto that man by whom what we see today is taking place.”
According to him, “I want to say that death is an appointment that everyone must keep. It does not have a particular time. You don’t know when know when your appointment comes.
When something is an appointment which you cannot escape: how we die, where we die depends on the hand of God. The only aspect we do not have control is when we die. This entirely depends on God.”
The governor, however, commiserated with the bereaved family over the unfortunate demise of their sister, wife and mother, saying “This event took place in a very dramatic manner. I still remember that Sunday morning, my brother (Udo Ekpenyong) called to inform me about it. I feel the pain of the family.”
He said ” He is a very dependable and reliable man who is result oriented in anything he does. I loved him and still love him. He is a good man. And when I tell you that he is a good man, know that he is truly a good man.”
The Governor pointed out that It is because of Ekpenyong’s amiable personality that has attracted the number of royal fathers and dignitaries that have attended the event.
The Governor who also condoled the bereaved family over their lost assured that government will ensure that those who killed late Enobong Akpan will be brought to books.
He spoke of her exit like a parable“It is like telling somebody good night and the person would be wondering ‘Ah, you wanted to say good morning or good afternoon, but you are saying good night. Such is the situation of life we find ourselves. At the prime age of 51, she still had years to live…”
